Materials Needed:

 Pen or pencil, blank paper, dictionary, and the poem below.

Allow your child to choose a Discovery Journal to write notes, words, or sentences from each class. Ask your child to date each entry at the left margin, then add descriptions of what he/she will study or write.  This Discovery Journal will form an integral part of this writing unit.
